For the sake of narrowing it down, I write Paranormal fiction. Sometimes also called Urban Fantasy. I make no guarantees that my writing will be strictly paranormal. Cross-genre writing might happen at some point. I like GoodReads definition of the Paranormal genre best, so here it is:
Paranormal books involve unusual experiences that lack a scientific explanation. Some popular subjects in paranormal books are supernatural creatures, ESP, clairvoyance, ghosts, UFOs, telepathy, and psychics. A subgenre of paranormal books and of romances is paranormal romance. These books focus mainly on the romantic relationships with a background theme of vampires, shapeshifters, ghosts, time travel, fantastical beings, and psychic abilities.
I like paranormal fiction because there’s endless ways to be creative when writing it. Almost anything can be easily accepted by a reader. Another reason is that I like when characters have to deal with normal problems in a paranormal setting. Especially when problems from each world overlap, creating conflict and forcing them to make difficult decisions. It’s an undertone that is in much of my writing.
If you enjoy reading about demons, witches, vampires, vampire hunters, shape shifters or any other supernatural creatures, you’ll find them in my books.
In case I didn’t tell you this before: I love urban fantasy. And I wholeheartedly agree regarding the endless ways to be creative.
Happy New Year!
